Our verdict on MinecraftArt

MinecraftArt, branded on its website as Minecraft Image Converter, is a free browser-based tool for turning PNG and JPG images into Minecraft blocks and map art. It is aimed at Minecraft players, map-art creators, builders, and server administrators, particularly those working with WorldEdit or Litematica. The workflow covers image conversion, palette selection, editing, previewing, and export rather than stopping at a basic image-to-block conversion.

Its strongest area is control over the conversion result. RGB and LAB color matching, dithering algorithms, and palette filtering by Minecraft version give users several ways to shape how an image maps to available blocks. The in-browser pixel editor adds pencil, eraser, bucket-fill, and eyedropper tools, while the 3D preview and staircase-mode shading help visualize the build before export. Material lists and blueprints extend the output into construction planning.

MinecraftArt also fits established building workflows through WorldEdit and Litematica integrations. It can generate Minecraft commands using /setblock and /fill, and export schematic, Litematica, map, and command outputs, including .schematic, .schem, .litematic, .map.dat, and commands. Choose it if you want a free web tool with broad Minecraft-oriented conversion and export options. It is less suitable if you need a native application, non-Minecraft output, or a general-purpose pixel-art editor.
