mFax, now branded as Documo, is a cloud fax service for healthcare organizations and other regulated industries. It supports sending and receiving faxes through a web browser, email, mobile devices, EHR integrations, or an API. Core capabilities include virtual fax numbers, inbound routing, delivery status, audit logs, encryption, electronic signatures, and HIPAA support. It is best suited to organizations that need faxing connected to clinical or administrative workflows rather than a basic standalone fax inbox.
According to the vendor’s published pricing, Solo Cloud Fax costs $25 per month when billed annually and includes 300 pages per month, one fax number, one user, and HIPAA compliance. Business Cloud Fax costs $80 per month on annual billing and raises the allowance to 1,500 pages, five fax numbers, and 10 users, while adding API access. Enterprise Cloud Fax costs $240 per month when billed annually and includes 6,000 pages, 10 fax numbers, 50 users, HIPAA compliance, and API access. The Custom Platform adds unlimited users and fax numbers, AI document classification and extraction, EHR integrations, developer APIs, and dedicated account management. A 14-day trial is available.
The platform’s strongest fit is healthcare workflow automation. It supports EHR systems and named integrations including PointClickCare, ModMed, NextGen, and Jane, alongside email-to-fax, fax-to-email, fax machine connectors, and programmatic sending and receiving. Intelligent document classification and data extraction can extend faxing into document workflows, while real-time delivery status and audit logs support operational tracking. Choose Documo when HIPAA-focused routing, integration, and automation justify the annual plan cost. Organizations seeking a simpler, lower-cost fax service or broader platform coverage may prefer an alternative.
