Memgraph review
A capable open-source graph database with strong real-time, vector, and deployment options.

Memgraph is an open-source, in-memory graph database for developers and teams building real-time graph analytics, knowledge graphs, recommendation systems, fraud detection, and AI applications. Its core stack combines Cypher querying, ACID transactions with on-disk persistence, high-availability replication, vector search, graph algorithms, and visual exploration through Memgraph Lab. Deployment options include self-managed installations, hybrid environments, and a fully managed AWS-hosted service, making it suitable for teams that need control over infrastructure as well as teams that prefer managed operations.
The published plans divide the product into Community Edition, Enterprise Edition, and Memgraph Cloud. Community Edition is free forever and includes open-source access, ACID transactions with on-disk persistence, high-availability replication, Cypher, and vector search. Enterprise pricing scales with memory capacity and adds role-based and label-based access control, SSO, multi-tenancy, automatic failover, and disaster recovery. Memgraph Cloud is fully managed, with automatic updates and backups and instance sizes from 1 GB to 32 GB RAM. The available 30-day trial applies to Enterprise, while Community Edition remains the free option.
Memgraph’s ecosystem supports Kafka, Pulsar, Redpanda, NetworkX, igraph, cuGraph, Elasticsearch, and client development in Python, C/C++, Rust, Node.js, C#, Go, Haskell, and Java. MAGE supplies graph algorithms, while custom query modules can be written in Python, C++, or Rust. This combination fits teams connecting live event streams with graph and vector workloads. Choose Memgraph if open-source Cypher, real-time processing, and flexible deployment are central requirements. Consider another product if you need a published Enterprise starting price, cloud capacity beyond the listed range, or a graph system centered on a different query language.
