Our verdict on MeloVox
MeloVox is an AUv3 vocal harmonizer for iPhone, iPad and compatible Apple silicon Macs. It is aimed at solo performers and small vocal setups that need live harmonies or MIDI-directed parts inside an Audio Unit Extension host. The app processes live vocal input and can create up to five simultaneous additional harmonies, while its controls cover both automatic and performance-driven workflows.
MeloVox is sold as a paid product with one plan named MeloVox and no free plan. The one-time App Store purchase starts at 14.99, with availability and pricing able to vary by country or region. Its main depth is vocal processing: Auto Sense uses detected pitch together with a specified key and scale, while MIDI Chords and Melody modes provide alternate control paths. Formant-preserving and traditional pitching algorithms, a 12-band vocoder, noise gate, vocal doubler, 10-band EQ and reverb extend the sound-shaping options. Preset management, drag-and-drop organization, set lists, snapshots and vocal previews support repeatable live arrangements.
The platform fit is focused but clear. AUv3 support enables use within compatible iOS and macOS music applications, and the combination of live processing and MIDI control suits setups built around Apple devices. There is no web app, and the listed platforms do not extend beyond iOS and macOS, so teams needing browser access or broader device coverage should choose another tool. Email is the listed support channel. MeloVox makes the most sense for Apple-based vocalists who value five-part harmony generation and detailed vocal effects in a plugin format; it is less suitable for buyers seeking a free tier, cross-platform deployment or a wider service ecosystem.
