Our verdict on Mailyr
Mailyr is an AI email-writing tool for individuals and small teams who want help drafting messages inside Gmail. Delivered as a Chrome extension, it generates email text from a short prompt or subject line, then places the result into Gmail's compose or reply window with one click. Tone and length controls support different writing needs, while grammar and writing improvement help refine existing text. Its focus is narrow: Gmail users looking for an in-context drafting assistant rather than a broader email platform.
The free Starter plan includes Gemini Flash, GPT-4o mini, 14 complimentary credits, slower email generation, and 48-hour support. The Premium plan adds Claude Sonnet and GPT-4o alongside the Starter models, plus faster generation and early access to new features. Premium also includes a monthly email quota. This structure makes Mailyr accessible for occasional drafting, while heavier users have a reason to consider the paid tier for speed and model choice. The published plan details emphasize capability differences more than administration or team management.
Mailyr's strongest fit is straightforward Gmail composition: prompt-based drafting, one-click insertion, tone and length customization, and grammar improvement are all centered on the same workflow. Its Chrome extension delivery keeps the product focused, but also limits its reach to Gmail users working in Chrome. Choose Mailyr if you want simple AI assistance in Gmail and can work within the available credits or quota. Consider another option if you need support for multiple mail clients, broader integrations, or a standalone writing environment.
