MacDroid review
A focused Mac utility for browsing and transferring files to and from Android devices.

MacDroid is a macOS app for moving files between a Mac and Android phones, tablets, and other MTP-compatible devices. It suits Mac users who want to browse device storage in Finder or transfer files directly, rather than use a hosted file-transfer service for sharing links. Connections can use USB with MTP or ADB modes, or Wi-Fi. MacDroid also provides access to internal and external storage, including SD cards.
Its main distinction is how it handles files on the connected device: users can browse Android storage through Finder and edit files from the Mac without copying them locally first. That makes it more than a basic copy utility for workflows involving files already on an Android device. Finder is its listed integration, while the product itself is a desktop application for macOS; it is not positioned as a cross-platform transfer option for Windows users.
The free version supports transfers from Android to Mac. According to the published plans, MacDroid PRO costs $19 per year or $34 for a lifetime license, and adds two-way transfers, USB or Wi-Fi connections, and direct editing of Android files on Mac. A seven-day free trial is offered. MacDroid is a good fit when the task is moving or managing files between a Mac and Android or another MTP-compatible device. Choose a different type of service if the need is hosted link sharing, or another platform if the workflow does not center on macOS and compatible devices.
