Our verdict on m-Power

m-Power is a low-code platform from mrc for organizations building custom business software over existing databases. It can generate responsive web applications, mobile web applications, reports, dashboards, portals, workflows, and REST APIs. Its fit is strongest for established enterprises and IT teams that need to modernize database applications while retaining existing data systems, authentication methods, and deployment controls.

Pricing is aimed at organizations with substantial application needs. The Evaluation plan provides a self-guided evaluation with sample data. The Subscription plan starts at $1,500 per month and includes unlimited users, unlimited applications, unlimited data, APIs, and cloud or on-premise deployment. The Perpetual plan provides lifetime ownership with the same unlimited user, application, and data allowances, plus optional annual maintenance. There is no free plan, and the subscription price is a starting point rather than a complete licensing picture. Buyers should weigh the paid options against their deployment, database, and licensing requirements.

The platform’s strongest technical fit is its connection to existing enterprise systems. It integrates with Db2, SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Active Directory, OAuth2, and SAML, while supporting database, Active Directory, OAuth2, or SSO authentication. Row-level and column-level permissions, audit trails for application and API activity, generated HTML, Java, CSS, and JavaScript, and support for cloud or self-hosted deployment give teams control over how applications operate. The trade-off is its narrow mobile approach: applications adapt for phones, tablets, and handheld devices, but the product does not publish native mobile apps. Choose m-Power for database-backed web modernization and controlled deployment; choose an alternative if native mobile distribution or a lower entry price is central.
