Our verdict on LessonLoop
LessonLoop is cloud software for private music teachers and music schools that need one system for scheduling, attendance, student records, billing and parent communication. It supports lessons across teachers, rooms and locations, including recurring, group and substitute lessons. Student, guardian and family records sit alongside attendance registers, absence and make-up tracking, invoices, payment plans and prepaid balances. Parents can use the portal to view schedules, invoices and payments, while practice tracking adds a communication layer beyond the timetable. An iOS app is available for parents and light staff use.
Pricing is split between Solo and School plans. Solo costs £15 per month or £150 per year, covers one teacher and includes unlimited pupils, calendar and attendance, invoicing, the parent portal, LoopAssist, Stripe, Xero and the iOS app. School costs £39 per month or £390 per year and adds unlimited teacher accounts plus multiple locations and rooms, while retaining scheduling, attendance, invoicing, the parent portal, LoopAssist, Stripe, Xero and iOS access. A 30-day trial is available, and the published plans use flat pricing rather than per-teacher fees. There is no free plan.
Its strongest ecosystem fit is for schools already working with Stripe, Xero and Google Calendar. Stripe supports online card payments and Bacs Direct Debit, Xero synchronizes invoices and payments, and Google Calendar provides synchronization with busy-time overlays. Integrations also include WhatsApp, ChatGPT, Claude and MCP clients; WhatsApp is optional, prepaid and in early access. LoopAssist adds AI assistance for administrative tasks. LessonLoop suits organizations that need coordinated scheduling and financial administration across multiple teachers. Solo teachers get a broad feature set, but schools with more complex requirements should assess whether the stated scheduling, billing, portal and integration scope matches their operating model.
