Our verdict on Ledgersync API

Ledgersync API provides REST access to transactions, balances, PDF statements, cleared check images, deposit-slip details, and OCR-structured statement rows. It is aimed at fintechs, product teams, and accounting firms that need bank data inside their own workflows, particularly teams extracting statements at volume. Coverage spans more than 10,000 U.S. financial institutions, and the API also supports requesting institutions that are not yet covered.

Pricing combines per-end-user charges with a $1,000 monthly minimum, so the effective fit depends on usage and the value of retrieving statement and image data alongside transactions. The Transactional data plan is $2 per end user monthly and includes up to 7 bank logins; Statements is $20 per end user monthly and also includes up to 7 bank logins. A 30-day trial is available and requires a card. The published API pricing is distinct from the vendor's separate accountancy product, so these API plans are the relevant basis for evaluating cost.

The data workflow is broader than transaction aggregation: connections can be refreshed on demand, signed webhooks report data and connection events, and REST endpoints manage connections, accounts, clients, and API keys. Ledgersync says it uses Mastercard Open Banking and MX, with Finicity also listed as an integration, and can route institutions across sources. Sandbox and live environments use separate keys. This makes it a fit for teams that need statements, OCR, and check or deposit details through an API; teams seeking only low-cost transaction access may find the monthly minimum hard to justify. PDF is the statement format, so organizations requiring another format should look elsewhere.
