Our verdict on LCEStudio
LCEStudio is an open-source Windows desktop toolkit for editing, repairing, and converting Minecraft Legacy Console Edition saves. It is aimed at players and technical users working with Xbox 360, PS3, or Windows LCE worlds, especially those maintaining older saves or moving them between supported formats. Its world library adds search, filtering, thumbnails, and conversion actions, while the editor covers NBT data, inventories, blocks, entities, tile entities, and players. A portable Windows executable is also available.
Its strongest area is legacy-save depth. LCEStudio can convert saves among Xbox 360, PS3, and Windows LCE, export LCE worlds to Java Edition Anvil format, and handle title-update downgrade and retargeting. Repair, relighting, and console-exact writing address preservation and recovery tasks that sit beyond basic world conversion. The 2D map, isometric view, and 3D fly-through editor give users several ways to inspect and modify a world, while global NBT search can locate data across save files. A command-line interface extends inspection and conversion beyond the desktop interface.
The trade-off is focus. LCEStudio is designed around Legacy Console Edition workflows, not general Minecraft edition conversion: the published category specifications identify no Java-to-Bedrock conversion, and its supported target formats center on LCE and Java Edition Anvil.
