Our verdict on LaunchBox
LaunchBox brings PC games, storefront libraries, emulator-based games, applications, homebrew, and other legally owned content into one organized library. It is aimed at Windows users who want one place to import titles from Steam, GOG, Epic, Amazon, EA, and Xbox, while also managing emulator-based games and other launchers. An Android edition is available separately. The Windows installation includes Big Box, a fullscreen interface designed for controller-focused browsing on televisions, handhelds, arcade cabinets, and home-theater PCs.
Its strongest case is breadth paired with organization. LaunchBox can arrange games by platform, category, playlist, favorite status, and filters, then add metadata, box art, screenshots, logos, and other media. Users can edit game details and custom classification fields, configure emulators, and launch titles through storefront clients, applications, executables, or emulators. Controller automation plus keyboard or controller shortcuts support living-room and arcade-style setups, while selected game statistics can synchronize across installations. That combination suits collections spanning several storefronts and emulation platforms better than a launcher focused on one ecosystem.
The pricing structure keeps the core Windows experience free, while paid tiers add premium features and define the update period. Starter is free forever. Regular costs $30 one time and includes a perpetual license plus one year of free updates. Lifetime costs $75 one time and includes updates for life. Bundle costs $35 one time for premium Windows and Android licenses with one year of free updates to both apps. LaunchBox is a strong choice for users who value a highly organized, metadata-rich Windows collection and controller-first presentation. A simpler launcher may be a better fit for users who do not need multi-store imports, emulator management, or extensive library customization.
