LaserLink is downloadable Windows software from Formstax for employers, payroll services and accounting professionals preparing federal W-2 and other information returns. It covers W-2, W-2C, W-2G, 1099, 1098, ACA and related transmittal forms, with support for multiple payers and unlimited employee records. Its desktop format and printing options make it a fit for organizations that prepare forms locally and need to print on blank or pre-printed stock. It is less suited to filers looking for a browser-based workflow or electronic employee delivery.

Formstax's current catalog lists LaserLink 20.26 at 102. The published plan highlights describe downloadable Windows software and W-2 and other information-return forms. E-filing is available separately, so the software purchase alone does not include IRS or SSA submission. Buyers should account for that separation when comparing the cost and workflow with a service that bundles electronic filing. The product supports uploads for IRS/SSA e-filing, and the category details indicate W-2 e-filing and corrections are supported; those capabilities do not change the separate-service requirement.

The feature set extends beyond form entry: users can import prior-year data and tax-data templates, generate payer and recipient summary reports, and use password protection and SSN masking for the database. These functions suit repeat filers handling several form types, especially where printing and importing existing records matter. The trade-off is a Windows-only desktop deployment, with documentation listed as the support channel and print/mail as the employee delivery approach. Choose LaserLink if local preparation, broad form coverage and paper output are priorities; consider an alternative if you need non-Windows access or included e-filing and electronic employee delivery.
