LanTopoLog is a portable, agentless network discovery and monitoring application for local networks. It uses SNMP to discover physical topology, maps switch ports to attached MAC and IP addresses, and presents a searchable, editable network map. Scheduled computer and end-device discovery, WMI-based inventory collection, ping and traffic monitoring, notifications, and diagram exports make it suited to teams that need visibility into a defined local environment without a recurring subscription.

The published plan is straightforward: LanTopoLog 2 license costs $50 USD as a one-time payment. It covers one local network, with the license key bound to up to three selected switches, and the software can run on multiple computers simultaneously. The feature set includes SNMP topology discovery, port mapping, WMI inventory, scheduled discovery, monitoring, email, Telegram, and Syslog notifications, plus PDF and Draw.io/Diagrams.net export. An unregistered version is available for testing, with topology discovery stated to work without limitations while some other features are time-limited.

LanTopoLog’s main strength is its focused local-network workflow. Windows and Linux support, optional browser-based access, Windows service operation, and an API provide several ways to operate and access the application. Its scope is narrower than a platform intended for hybrid environments: the published integrations are Telegram and Syslog, and the product is centered on local topology discovery rather than a broad ecosystem. Choose LanTopoLog when a one-time license, SNMP mapping, inventory, and monitoring meet the need. Consider an alternative when broader integrations or hybrid-network coverage are central requirements.

  • Where it doesn't
    • Designed for local networks rather than hybrid environments
    • Integration options focus on Telegram and Syslog
    • The product has no free plan
