Lamco RDP Server is a self-hosted RDP server for Linux desktops running Wayland compositors, including GNOME, KDE Plasma, Sway, and Hyprland. It is aimed at administrators who need remote access to an existing Linux desktop session from Windows, macOS, Linux, or compatible mobile RDP clients. The server includes unattended access, session persistence, TLS encryption, PAM-based Network Level Authentication, and a graphical interface for configuration, logs, and certificate setup.
Pricing is structured from a free Community Edition to paid individual, team, business, corporate, and enterprise options. Community Edition supports Flatpak and Snap distribution, unlimited servers, no feature limits, and no time limits. Single Instance covers one server instance and is available for non-profit, educational, research, evaluation, and testing use. Personal Monthly costs $4.99 per server per month, while Personal Annual costs $49 per server per year; both include all features, updates during the subscription, and priority email support. Team, Business, and Corporate cost $149, $499, and $1,499 per year respectively, with all features and updates. Enterprise includes all features with custom terms available.
Its strongest fit is a Wayland-focused Linux environment where encoding, input, file transfer, and audio support matter. Lamco RDP Server uses XDG Desktop Portals and integrates with PipeWire, systemd, PAM, Secret Service, and TPM 2.0. H.264 AVC420 and AVC444 encoding, supported VA-API and native-package hardware encoding, bidirectional clipboard, desktop audio, touch input, and multi-monitor coordinate mapping give it a substantial server feature set. However, the experience depends on the Linux distribution, compositor, and installation method: native packages provide broader support than sandboxed Flatpak and Snap packages. Choose it for a focused Linux RDP server; consider an alternative when you need a broader desktop platform or mature drive and microphone redirection.
