Ladder review
A structured strength-training app for people who want coaches to plan each workout.

Ladder is a strength-training app for people who want a coach-programmed routine rather than designing their own sessions. Its daily workouts refresh weekly, and members can choose among training teams. During a session, video demonstrations, in-ear coaching and built-in pacing guide exercise execution. Rep and weight tracking, training notes, personal-record alerts, nutrition logging and team chat extend the routine beyond the workout itself. Plans are intended for home, gym or outdoor training, making the product a fit for individuals who value structure and coaching cues over custom workout construction.
The published plans show a 7-day trial and two Pro options. Pro Plan - monthly costs $29.99 per month and includes a weekly workout plan, coaching and demonstrations, Ladder Journal progress tracking, Apple Watch and music connections, Team Chat, and one team with two team changes per month. Pro Plan - annual is listed at $14.99 per month with annual billing. It includes the monthly plan features, access to all teams and workouts, unlimited monthly team changes, and unlimited Save & Replay workouts. Ladder has no free plan, so people who want ongoing access need a paid subscription after the trial. The annual option is suited to members who want broader team access; monthly billing offers a shorter commitment.
The product’s strongest fit is guided training: demonstrations, pacing, coaching, tracking and nutrition logging sit alongside workouts programmed by coaches. Apple Watch, Spotify and Apple Music connections support its ecosystem, while Team Chat adds a channel for coach tips and motivation. The main trade-off is platform coverage: its mobile app is iOS-only, despite web being listed as a platform. It also does not include a workout builder or client management, so trainers managing clients or people who want to author sessions should look elsewhere. Choose Ladder for a coach-led strength routine and adherence tools; skip it if you need broader mobile coverage or workout-design controls.
