KubeSense review
Broad self-hosted observability for teams willing to pay per node or host.
Reviewed by iTechGuides Editors · Editorial team · Updated Oct 2026
KubeSense is a self-hosted observability platform for engineering and SRE teams managing Kubernetes, Docker, virtual machines, serverless workloads, ECS, Lambda, OpenShift, and on-premises environments. Its eBPF-based collection provides zero-code infrastructure and network telemetry, while OpenTelemetry ingestion supports application telemetry. The platform combines application performance monitoring, distributed tracing, logs, infrastructure metrics, service maps, real user monitoring, alerting, database monitoring, and AI-assisted root-cause analysis. It runs on web, Linux, API, and self-hosted deployments.
Pricing is structured around cluster and node coverage. Basic costs $20 per node or host per month with monthly billing, or $999 per month billed annually, and includes one cluster, time-based retention for logs, metrics, events, and traces, and email support. Standard costs $25 per node or host per month, or $1,999 per month billed annually, with the same one-cluster scope and added dedicated Slack support. Premium costs $30 per node or host per month, or $4,999 per month billed annually, and adds multiple clusters, migration assistance, and expanded support. Enterprise includes unlimited clusters and hosts or nodes, advanced retention policies, SSO and RBAC, and dedicated 24/7 Slack and on-call support.
KubeSense fits teams that want broad telemetry while keeping data within their own cloud or data-center environment. Its ecosystem includes OpenTelemetry, Datadog, New Relic, Slack, PagerDuty, Opsgenie, Alertmanager, Jira, AWS, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Azure. Kubernetes, VM, container, serverless, and ECS monitoring support gives it wide infrastructure coverage, while service, endpoint, dependency, protocol, status, and source views add application context. Teams seeking kernel profiling should note that eBPF-based profiling is listed as coming soon. Organizations that prefer a separately named free plan or a narrower, lower-cost tool should consider alternatives.
