Krystal Hosting review
A security-focused shared host with strong features, but limited value on its entry plan.

Krystal Hosting provides Linux-based shared web hosting for personal sites, freelancers, professionals, and small businesses. Its service combines cPanel management with NVMe storage, email hosting, SSL certificates, backups, unlimited bandwidth, and application installation. Support is available by ticket, live chat, and phone, while migration assistance can help eligible customers move from another provider.
The three monthly plans scale mainly by website capacity, storage, and backup frequency. Amethyst costs £7 per month and includes one website, 10GB of NVMe storage, unlimited mailboxes, unlimited bandwidth, daily backups, and free SSL certificates. Ruby costs £11 per month and raises capacity to five websites and 25GB of NVMe storage, while retaining the other listed features. Emerald costs £19 per month and adds unlimited websites, unlimited NVMe storage, and four-hourly backups. This structure suits a single-site owner at the lower tier, but the one-website limit makes Amethyst less flexible for users managing several projects.
Security and site-management features are a central part of the offering. Plans include a firewall, real-time scanning, two-factor authentication, and DDoS protection, alongside free 256-bit SSL certificates. Email supports POP, IMAP, SMTP, aliases, and autoresponders. Users can install more than 380 applications with one click, including WordPress, Joomla!, Drupal, OpenCart, WooCommerce, Magento, and Craft CMS. FTP, SFTP, SSH, WebDAV, and an online file manager provide several access options. Krystal Hosting is a strong fit for buyers prioritising security controls, cPanel, email, and support channels. Users seeking a free service or multiple websites at the lowest monthly price should consider an alternative.
