Kolbo Music Library API review
A music-only API for searching, analyzing and acquiring licensed tracks and production variants.

Kolbo Music Library API gives developers authenticated access to a licensed production-music catalog. It is aimed at teams building music discovery, licensing or production workflows into software, from solo projects through enterprise use. Search supports query, genre, mood, instrument, BPM and duration filters, while catalog browsing includes pagination and sorting. Script analysis can produce a music query, mood, genre and keywords, making the API relevant to workflows that begin with a script rather than a track selection.
Its focus is depth within music rather than breadth across media. Alongside previews and clean MP3/WAV masters, the API can return stems, cutdowns, minus-mixes and alternate versions, as well as lyrics, lyrical themes and an explicit flag. Clean, unwatermarked masters or stems can be acquired and imported into Kolbo Media Library. Discovery endpoints are free, while each clean-track acquisition and import consumes one vendor credit. This makes the service a better fit for products that need licensed music and production-ready variants than for teams seeking images, video or a general stock-media API.
The Free plan offers limited credits and core features; paid monthly plans start with Lite at $24 for 2,500 credits, followed by Standard at $40 for 4,250, Pro at $79 for 9,500, Pro 2x at $152 for 19,000, and Pro 3x at $220 for 28,500. Annual billing is available at a 20% discount. Every endpoint uses an X-API-Key, and the service is hosted in the cloud. Documentation, email and community are support channels. Choose Kolbo when music licensing, stems and alternate cuts are central to the product; look elsewhere if your API needs span multiple asset types.
