Kit by KitchenSync is a restaurant back-office platform for multi-unit restaurant operators. Its payroll module handles restaurant-specific tip-pool calculations using point-, hours-, position-, and hybrid-based methods. It also supports multi-state withholding by work location, payroll tax deposits and filings, employee self-service, direct deposit, printed checks, and new-hire reporting. Managers can review payroll through web, iOS, and Android access, while employees can view pay stubs, tax forms, benefits, and direct-deposit settings.

Pricing is organized into three paid monthly plans priced per location. Kit Essentials starts at $1,500 and includes full payroll and HR, benefits administration, banking and cash-flow tools, POS integration, and dedicated HR and accounting support. Kit Pro costs $1,950 and adds inventory management, recipe costing, unlimited payroll for 20 employees, and access for five managers and 15 employees. Kit Max costs $7,500 and adds year-end tax services, quarterly tax planning, weekly P&L meetings, live HR consulting, and unlimited AI usage, payroll, banking, and HR.

The platform fits operators that want payroll connected to restaurant operations. Integrations include Toast, Square, Lightspeed, Aloha, MICROS, 7shifts, QuickBooks Online, Sage Intacct, and Xero. Direct POS connections bring hours and tips into payroll, while weekly P&L reporting and payroll reconciliation connect payroll activity to the books. AI-assisted back-office analysis includes human review. Multi-location groups with complex tip and tax requirements should consider Kit; operators seeking a lower-cost or payroll-only system should look elsewhere.
