Kentik Network Monitoring System is a cloud platform for monitoring network infrastructure across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments. It is aimed at network teams investigating availability, performance, routing, configuration, and capacity issues. The system collects SNMP and streaming telemetry, monitors device health and interfaces, analyzes traffic and flow data, and correlates those signals with synthetic-test results. Its scope suits organizations that want infrastructure, traffic, and performance visibility in one product.

The published plans show a 30-day Trial, a Pro plan starting at $2,000 per month on annual billing, and a Premier plan with pricing available through sales. Pro includes Kentik NMS, Kentik Synthetics, and Kentik Map. The platform is delivered through the web and API, with REST and gRPC APIs for programmatic access. Integrations span Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto Networks, Fortinet, AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, VMware SD-WAN, Cisco SD-WAN, and Silver Peak EdgeConnect, giving it broad coverage across network and cloud environments.

Its standout strength is breadth: teams can combine device health, flow analysis, synthetic ping, traceroute, HTTP, DNS, and page-load tests with topology maps, stateful alert policies, configuration backups and diffs, live diagnostics, and AI-assisted investigations. Email and webhook notifications support alert delivery. The tradeoff is cost and deployment effort: the product is paid-only, Pro begins at a substantial annual commitment, and a Universal Agent is required inside the customer network while monitoring data is transmitted to Kentik SaaS. Choose Kentik when broad telemetry and synthetic monitoring justify that investment; smaller teams seeking a lower-cost or simpler monitoring tool should look elsewhere.
