Kanka is a web-based worldbuilding and tabletop RPG campaign management tool for game masters, players, writers, and other worldbuilders. It organizes characters, locations, organizations, families, quests, journals, calendars, timelines, items, and related content into linked campaign entries. Collaboration is supported through invited members, role-based permissions, visibility controls, galleries, dashboards, maps, and campaign widgets. Its free Kobold plan includes unlimited campaigns and uploads, access to all core features, and no premium campaigns.
The product’s main strength is structured campaign data rather than a simple collection of disconnected wiki pages. Entries can be linked across a campaign, while revision and change history helps track updates. Interactive maps support layers and pins, and galleries provide image and file management with role-based upload permissions. These tools make Kanka a fit for campaign worlds that need a shared reference system with controlled access for different participants.
