IsoBuster is Windows data-recovery software from Smart Projects for people retrieving files from optical discs, storage devices and image files. Its coverage includes CD, DVD, BD and HD DVD, as well as hard drives, SSDs, USB flash drives and memory cards. It can inspect partitions, tracks and sessions, scan for lost, deleted or orphaned files, and extract recovered content. That breadth makes it a fit for recovery work involving optical or legacy media alongside current storage; it is less suitable for anyone who needs a tool that runs outside Windows.

The recovery workflow has several useful layers. IsoBuster supports file-signature scanning and data carving, can create managed image files for difficult media, and can recover from image files and spanned image files. It supports NTFS, FAT, HFS/HFS+, UDF and Linux EXT, and includes RAID1 support. Selected picture and video files can be previewed before extraction. Users can extract files, tracks, sessions and partitions. These options suit cases where a straightforward file-system scan may not be enough, while buyers needing RAID recovery beyond RAID1 should look elsewhere.

Licensing is divided by intended use. The Free plan has no time limit and supports scanning and finding missing files, but applies to selected media and file systems. Personal is for private use; Professional is for professional use; both include a lifetime license and free upgrades in the 5.x range. Enterprise is intended for forensics and data-recovery lab use, as well as professional and enterprise use, and includes a lifetime license. Choose IsoBuster if its Windows environment, media coverage and licensing tiers match the recovery work; consider an alternative if broader operating-system support or a different RAID scope is essential.
