Our verdict on iSecretShop
iSecretShop is a mystery shopping platform and job board for shoppers, mystery shopping providers, market research companies, and businesses running audits. Its main role for shoppers is to bring assignments from multiple providers into one place, then support discovery, scheduling, completion, and submission. Work can be completed through iOS and Android apps, mobile web, or a computer, making it suitable for shoppers who work across devices. Businesses can also use the platform to discuss internal mystery shopping or audit programs.
For shoppers, the free access model is the clearest part of the offering. The platform supports assignment discovery, scheduling, push notifications, and targeted geographic zones, which makes opportunity aggregation its central advantage. Participating providers handle shopper payments rather than iSecretShop, so the platform functions as the access and workflow layer instead of the payment source. Businesses pay for the service, with pricing handled through contact with sales. That split makes iSecretShop a practical fit for shoppers looking across providers, while businesses should evaluate the commercial arrangement directly with the vendor.
iSecretShop’s strongest functional area is evidence collection. On-site evaluations can include photos, geo-tags, date and time stamps, and audio recordings, with submissions supported from mobile devices, mobile web, and computers. Support for internal audits broadens its use beyond shopper-facing assignments. The trade-off is a narrower operational focus: iSecretShop does not provide shopper payments or analytics for reviewing activity and results. Choose it when aggregated opportunities, scheduling, notifications, and multi-format submissions matter most. Consider an alternative when built-in payment handling or deeper analytics is central to the workflow.
