Internet DJ Console is an open-source Linux desktop application for producing live Internet radio shows. It suits individual DJs and small Internet radio operations that manage their own audio sources and streaming infrastructure. The application streams to Icecast and Shoutcast servers, supports six simultaneous streams, and includes playlist playback with looping, random, and manual modes. Microphone, auxiliary, and VoIP inputs make it suitable for shows that combine live presenters with programmed audio.

Its strongest area is audio production depth. Crossfading, pre-listening controls, jingles, sound-effect players, stream metadata, and listener monitoring cover the main tasks involved in running an Internet radio program. Audio routing through JACK ports adds compatibility with JACK Audio Connection Kit, Jack Rack, and Jamin, while Skype is listed as an integration for VoIP input. The streaming and recording output module also supports local recording, giving operators a way to produce and broadcast audio from the same desktop application.

Internet DJ Console is free and open source, with no paid tier structure to weigh against its feature set. Its focus is deliberately narrow: it is an audio Internet-radio application, not a general live video encoder. That makes it a fitting choice for Linux users who need detailed control over playlists, live inputs, metadata, and Icecast or Shoutcast output. Teams looking for video production, hosted streaming infrastructure, or support for platforms beyond Linux should choose a different type of encoder.
