Intermapper is self-hosted network and server monitoring software for IT teams that need a live view of devices, servers, applications, services, and network links. Automatic discovery of IP-enabled devices feeds live, color-coded maps, while built-in and custom probes support monitoring across infrastructure. The product also covers synthetic checks, traffic monitoring, historical reporting, threshold-based alerts, escalation rules, and an HTTP API. Windows, macOS, and Linux deployments are supported, making it a fit for small teams that value visual topology and broader infrastructure visibility.
Pricing is split between a Free plan and a Commercial plan. Free supports up to five devices, automatic Layer 3 network mapping, real-time performance alerts, and unlimited map configuration options. A separate full-featured trial lasts 30 days and supports up to 500 devices. Commercial uses device-based licensing, scales beyond five devices, and requires a customized quote. That structure gives small environments a defined way to start, while larger deployments need to assess the cost of monitoring each device as the estate grows.
Intermapper’s strongest differentiator is the combination of visual mapping and traffic visibility. It supports NetFlow, sFlow, jFlow, and cFlow monitoring, alongside device and service probes, trend graphs, reports, and alerts delivered through email, SMS, and mobile channels. Integrations include Splunk, Google Maps, Google Earth, and Microsoft Visio, with the HTTP API available for data exchange and integrations. Choose it when live maps and multi-layer monitoring are central requirements; consider another option if you need a clearly published commercial price or a free plan covering more than five devices.
