A free, customizable ERP for organizations managing multiple entities on-premise.

iDempiere is an open-source enterprise resource planning, customer relationship management, and supply chain management system for organizations that need a customizable business platform. Its functional coverage includes sales quote-to-invoice workflows, purchasing requisition-to-invoice workflows, financial accounting, inventory and material management, manufacturing, projects, assets, and returns. Multi-tenant and multi-organization support makes it relevant for organizations managing multiple financial entities within a tenant. It is available for Linux, Windows, and macOS, with API access for connected applications.
The main strength is breadth without a paid subscription model. iDempiere brings finance, order management, purchasing, inventory, manufacturing, project management, and asset management into one open-source system. Its database and service options include PostgreSQL, Oracle Database, REST web services, and SOAP web services. JSON web-service requests and responses support integration work, while plugin-based customization and the application dictionary allow organizations to extend the system around their processes. This combination suits teams that need multi-entity ERP capabilities and can take responsibility for configuration and ongoing administration.
Deployment is the key consideration. iDempiere is designed for self-managed, on-premise installations and can be installed with downloadable installers or Docker. That model offers control over deployment and customization, but it places implementation, hosting, maintenance, and operational responsibility on the organization or its chosen implementor. Hosted services may be available from third-party implementors rather than through a published paid plan structure. Choose iDempiere when free, open-source ownership and multi-tenant functionality matter more than a managed cloud experience. Organizations seeking a vendor-operated ERP service should consider a different deployment model.
