Our verdict on Ichitaro
Ichitaro is a Japanese word processor from JUSTSYSTEMS CORPORATION for business documents, writing, publishing, and structured document creation. It is designed for Japanese editions of Windows and supports document editing, layout, templates, proofreading, privacy checks, personal-information detection, voice input, transcription, OCR, and multiple export formats. Its workflow includes outline, editor, basic-editing, submission-check, and viewer phases, making it a fit for users who need more than basic text entry.
The published plans show two perpetual desktop editions. Ichitaro 2026 includes ATOK Passport Premium for one year and supports business documents and writing activities. Ichitaro 2026 Platinum includes all Ichitaro 2026 features, plus JUST Voice Writer, JUST Office 6 Personal, and 21 premium fonts. The listed starting price is 28,600, including Japanese consumption tax, and a 30-day free trial is available. The bundled ATOK Passport Premium access lasts one year, while the product itself is a perpetual purchase.
Ichitaro’s strongest area is document production depth. Users can create separate indexes for tables and figures, apply JUST Checker proofreading, filter privacy-sensitive document images, detect personal information in text, convert image text through OCR, and transcribe audio or video through voice tools. It also supports PDF, HTML, RTF, TXT, OpenDocument, and Microsoft Word formats, with Ichitaro Pad and ATOK Passport listed as integrations. Choose Ichitaro for specialized Japanese production on Windows; users seeking a free plan, cross-platform access, or a lower starting price should compare alternatives.
