IBM MaaS360 brings device enrollment, application distribution, policy controls, patch management, compliance actions and remote wipe into a cloud service for organizations managing phones, tablets, computers and other endpoints. It supports iOS, iPadOS, Android, Windows, macOS and Chrome OS. Its per-client-device pricing and tiered feature set make it relevant to teams seeking centralized management across mobile and desktop systems, particularly when mobile security is part of the requirement.

The published plans show a low-cost entry point, but the tiers have distinct scope. Fast Start costs $1.50 per client device monthly and includes Mobile Device Management and Mobile App Management. Essentials is $4.24 and adds identity management, granular patch management, a policy recommendation engine and user risk management. Deluxe costs $5.30, adding security-rich mobile mail, enterprise email, an AI chatbot and voice assistant. Premier is $6.63 and adds an OS VPN and enterprise browser, application security, content management and an enterprise container. Enterprise costs $9.54 and adds mobile threat management, application patching, a mobile document editor and document sync. A 30-day free trial is available; there is no free plan.

For teams that need more than basic device control, the range from enrollment and app management through compliance rules and automated actions provides meaningful operational coverage. The key trade-off is that the entry plan is focused: patching, identity and risk features begin at Essentials, while mobile threat management sits at the top tier. Buyers should compare the needed controls against their device count, since charges are per client device rather than per user. MaaS360 is a fit for organizations that want one service for multiple operating systems and can choose a tier around their security needs; teams seeking only basic mobile management may find the higher-tier additions unnecessary.
