IBM Cloud Bare Metal Servers provide dedicated, single-tenant physical servers through IBM Cloud classic infrastructure and VPC. The service is aimed at large enterprises running workloads such as SAP HANA, SAP NetWeaver, VMware environments, high-performance computing, and web hosting. Customers can choose preconfigured or customized hardware, operating systems, storage, networking, and optional services, making the offering suitable for organizations that need dedicated capacity within the IBM Cloud ecosystem.
Pricing is monthly and begins with the Web hosting starter configuration at $241 per month. It includes an Intel Xeon E3-1270 v6, 4 cores at 3.80 GHz, 16 GB RAM, 1 x 1 TB HDD, CentOS, and 20 TB bandwidth. Web hosting growth costs $379 per month and adds an Intel Xeon 4110, 16 cores at 2.10 GHz, and 32 GB RAM, while retaining 1 x 1 TB HDD, CentOS, and 20 TB bandwidth. A higher Web hosting starter configuration costs $1,315 per month and includes an Intel Xeon 6140, 36 cores at 2.30 GHz, 384 GB RAM, 960 GB SSD x 4, CentOS, and 20 TB bandwidth.
Its strongest fit is for teams that need IBM Cloud integration with VMware, SAP, Red Hat, Terraform, or IBM Storage Scale. Classic infrastructure offers broad configuration choices, while VPC supports multizone regional deployment, software-defined networking, and throughput up to 200 Gbps. IBM Cloud Backup and a hardware firewall are optional, and DDoS-related business-continuance protection is not included. Choose this service for dedicated enterprise workloads and specialized ecosystem support; consider an alternative if included protection, included backups, or managed hosting are priorities.
