I3K RAG Enterprise review
A strong fit for air-gapped document RAG with local processing and cited answers.

I3K RAG Enterprise is a self-hosted retrieval-augmented generation platform for organizations that need documents and AI processing to remain inside their own infrastructure. It supports document ingestion through a web interface and REST API, OCR for scanned documents, local multilingual embeddings, semantic retrieval, and answers with citations to source documents. Its strongest audience is teams handling sensitive documents that need air-gapped or on-premise deployment across web, Windows, Linux, or API environments.
The Community plan is free and provides a single self-hosted binary, a four-step RAG pipeline, local models and embeddings, scheduled local backup, and community support. Pro adds a commercial license, self-hosted deployment, SSO, advanced RBAC, tamper-evident audit logs, structured extraction, deployment assistance, and an SLA. Managed shifts the operating model to an EU-hosted instance with managed updates and patching, managed backups and disaster recovery, SSO, advanced RBAC, and annual on-site training. Pro and Managed use custom pricing, so the main trade-off is between free control, paid enterprise support, and managed operations.
Its document layer is broader than a basic chat-over-files tool. Integrations include Qdrant, Ollama, Apache Tika, Tesseract, EuLLM, S3, Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox, WebDAV/Nextcloud, FTP, SFTP, Backblaze B2, and pCloud. Hybrid retrieval and reranking are documented capabilities, while configurable relevance thresholds and top-K settings provide retrieval control. Structured extraction can produce JSON, tables, and fields. Choose I3K RAG Enterprise when data sovereignty, local processing, citations, and air-gapped deployment matter most. Organizations seeking a hosted service without managing infrastructure should consider the Managed plan rather than Community or Pro.
