Hydrolix review
A SQL analytics platform for streaming logs, observability, and operational data.

Hydrolix is a real-time data platform for high-volume log analytics, observability, and operational intelligence. It ingests streaming data, applies transformations and enrichment before storage, and supports SQL querying across large datasets. The platform is aimed at enterprises managing petabyte-scale data, long-term retention, CDN telemetry, security data, and other operational workloads. Web, API, and self-hosted deployment options support different operating models, while role-based and row-level access controls address governed data access.
Pricing is based on data ingested. The Bring Your Own Cloud plan costs $0.20 per GB ingested and provides self-managed deployment in the customer's cloud, with streaming ingest and queries included. Hydrolix Cloud costs $0.31 per GB ingested and is a fully managed SaaS option that includes streaming ingest, three months of retention, and queries. Hydrolix Cloud also includes a seven-day free trial. Published pricing is listed for North America AWS, while other clouds and regions use a contact-sales process. Buyers should compare expected ingestion volume, retention needs, and operational ownership before choosing between the plans.
Hydrolix fits teams that need streaming data handled before it reaches storage, object-storage-based long-term retention, compressed columnar data, partitioning, block-level indexing, and summary tables for real-time aggregations. Its ecosystem covers Akamai, AWS CloudFront, Cloudflare, Fastly, Tencent, Cribl, Vector, Fluent Bit, Grafana, Superset, Kibana, Redash, Tableau, Looker, and Splunk. SQL access and visualization integrations broaden its use across analytics and monitoring workflows. Choose Hydrolix when high-volume streaming and full-fidelity retention are central requirements; teams seeking a general-purpose OLAP system outside those workloads may prefer a more broadly focused alternative.
Hydrolix pros and cons

- Real-time ingestion with streaming transformation and enrichment
- SQL access through HTTP Query API and ClickHouse-compatible interfaces
- Long-term object storage with columnar indexing and summaries
- Where it doesn't
- Usage-based pricing can make costs rise with ingestion volume
- BYOC requires a self-managed deployment in the customer's cloud
- Its focus is specialized around operational and streaming workloads
