Hum to MIDI is a free browser utility for turning a hummed, sung, or whistled single-line melody into MIDI notes as it is performed. It suits solo musicians and small teams who want to capture a melodic idea without first entering it by hand. The piano-roll display shows detected notes in real time, and the tool includes playback and a demo mode. This is a focused melody-capture tool, not a generator for complete songs or arrangements.
Its useful controls center on pitch capture and export. Notes can be snapped chromatically or to a detected key, and detection sensitivity is adjustable. Export tempo can also be set before downloading a standard .mid file, which can be brought into DAWs or notation software. That MIDI handoff makes the tool relevant when the next step is arranging or editing elsewhere; it does not itself provide notation export or finished audio output. Choose it when a vocal idea needs to become editable MIDI, rather than when the goal is an automatically produced track.
