Huawei Cloud ServiceStage review
A broad PaaS for enterprise Java, containers, microservices, and Kubernetes deployments.

Huawei Cloud ServiceStage is a platform-as-a-service environment for enterprises running Java applications and microservices. It supports Java, Tomcat, Docker, and other runtime environments, with deployment to virtual machines or Kubernetes-based containers. Teams can deliver applications from source repositories, JAR files, WAR files, ZIP files, or container images. The platform is suited to organizations that need application lifecycle controls alongside runtime flexibility, rather than a simple server for a single Java site.
ServiceStage’s main strength is deployment breadth. Applications can be created, deployed, upgraded, rolled back, started, stopped, and deleted through the platform. CI/CD pipelines connect with Jenkins, CodeArts, GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, and CodeArts Repo. Its microservice support covers Spring Cloud, ServiceComb, Dubbo, and Service Mesh. The Professional edition adds high-availability deployment, configuration management, microservice governance, full-stack observability, and continuous integration and deployment. These capabilities make the platform a fit for teams managing distributed Java services across virtual machines or Kubernetes-based containers.
The pricing structure is freemium and usage-based. A Basic edition provides basic environment and application running management, VM and container management, environment management, and build and pipeline release. A separate Basic listing describes pay-per-use billing for application instances, while the Professional edition adds the higher-level operational and governance features. Compute, database, network, middleware, and storage resources are billed separately. ServiceStage integrates with Huawei Cloud services including CCE, CSE, AOM, APM, ELB, RDS, and DCS. Choose it for enterprise deployments that need release controls, observability, scaling, high availability, and microservice tooling. Simpler Java hosting needs may be better served by a narrower platform.

- Paid-tier pricing is usage-based rather than conventional monthly plans
- Database management is not included as a core managed capability
- Its broad enterprise feature set may exceed simpler hosting needs
