Huawei Cloud Elastic Load Balance distributes incoming traffic across backend servers through dedicated and shared load balancers. It supports Layer 4 TCP, UDP, and TLS balancing alongside Layer 7 HTTP and HTTPS balancing, making it suitable for high-traffic websites, disaster recovery, e-commerce promotions, cloud-native applications, and enterprise workloads. It is a strong fit for teams that need health-based routing, multi-availability-zone deployment, TLS offloading, and control over how requests reach backend services.

The published plans show two billing approaches. Pay-per-use provides postpaid usage billing, with usage calculated by the second and billed hourly. Yearly/Monthly uses prepaid subscription billing and provides dedicated load balancers with fixed specifications. ELB also connects with Huawei Cloud services including Auto Scaling, Virtual Private Cloud, Elastic Cloud Server, Anti-DDoS Service, and Cloud Connect. That combination suits deployments already built around Huawei Cloud networking and compute services, while teams should account for regional and specification differences when evaluating cost.

Traffic management is the product's main strength. Health checks route requests only to healthy backend servers, while cookie-based and source-IP sticky sessions help maintain session affinity. Advanced forwarding can use domains, paths, headers, methods, query strings, and CIDR ranges. Dedicated load balancers can distribute traffic across regions or VPCs when the required connectivity is configured, and TLS offloading supports HTTPS listeners. Choose ELB when broad routing control and Huawei Cloud integration matter; teams seeking a free entry tier or simpler standalone balancing may prefer a less feature-focused alternative.
