Huawei Cloud Elastic Cloud Server (ECS) provides configurable virtual machines for websites, databases, gaming workloads, big-data applications, graphics rendering, and AI or machine-learning workloads. Users choose vCPU and memory configurations, images, system or data disks, networking, regions, and availability zones. It fits teams that want regional compute capacity within the Huawei Cloud ecosystem, particularly when workloads need adjustable infrastructure rather than a fixed server configuration.

Billing is organized around three modes. Yearly/Monthly uses prepaid billing for a selected subscription period and is designed for longer-term workloads. Pay-per-use avoids an upfront commitment and charges according to usage. Spot pricing follows market conditions, with the possibility that instances are reclaimed when capacity or price conditions change. The range supports different commitment preferences, but the number of configuration choices means deployment cost depends on the selected instance type, region, billing mode, storage, image, and bandwidth.

ECS is strongest when paired with adjacent Huawei Cloud services. Auto Scaling groups can add, remove, or maintain ECS instances according to policies, while Elastic Load Balance distributes traffic across instances. Object Storage Service supports buckets and objects, and the wider integration set includes Elastic Volume Service, Relational Database Service, and Virtual Private Cloud. REST APIs and SDK-based management also support programmatic administration. Choose ECS for Huawei Cloud deployments that need configurable compute across multiple regions and availability zones. Consider another option if you want a narrowly scoped hosting product with fewer infrastructure decisions or if spot-instance reclamation is unsuitable for the workload.
