HPE Aruba Networking Central is a network management and orchestration platform for wired, wireless, WAN, VPN, branch, campus, remote, and data-center environments. It is designed for organizations managing distributed or enterprise networks, particularly those using HPE Aruba access points, switches, and gateways. Central provides zero-touch device onboarding, cloud-based configuration application, device inventory, centralized profiles, network policies, monitoring, troubleshooting, topology, reporting, and mobile QR-code onboarding workflows.
The published plans show two subscription tiers. Foundation includes zero-touch device onboarding, centralized network configuration, and monitoring and troubleshooting. Advanced adds advanced analytics and AI features while retaining the Foundation capabilities. Central also has a 90-day evaluation license. Deployment options include cloud, virtual private cloud, managed service provider, and Central On-Premises environments, giving organizations a choice between cloud-managed and hybrid operating models. Subscription terms and device types affect the available commercial options.
Its ecosystem fit is a key strength. Central connects with HPE GreenLake, Ekahau, and Hamina, and provides REST API, streaming API, and webhook access for broader operational workflows. Configuration profiles cover WLAN, VLAN, DNS, switches, gateways, and access points, while role-based network access policies, security policies, and Central NAC authentication and authorization policies support controlled access. Organizations seeking centralized provisioning across Aruba environments should find the feature scope aligned with that need. Teams requiring a free product, or broad support for devices outside the selected third-party ecosystem, should consider a narrower or more device-agnostic alternative.
