HOSTDATOS phpBB Hosting is a managed web hosting service for phpBB communities, from new forums to larger installations. Its plans support one, up to 10, or unlimited phpBB forums, with 50 GB, 100 GB, or 200 GB of NVMe storage respectively. Each plan includes unmetered bandwidth, while cPanel, Softaculous, SSL, LiteSpeed servers, and phpBB support form the core hosting setup. Support for custom styles and extensions also suits communities that need more than a default forum configuration.
The plan structure is straightforward. Forum Starter includes one phpBB forum, 50 GB of storage, LiteSpeed, and weekly backups. Forum Business increases capacity to 10 forums and 100 GB, adds LiteSpeed caching, a free one-year domain, daily backups, and Imunify360 firewall protection. Forum Pro supports unlimited phpBB forums and 200 GB of storage, retaining LiteSpeed caching and adding both daily and on-demand backups. Free phpBB migration is available on annual plans, and PHP version selection is handled through cPanel.
The main distinction between the tiers is operational coverage rather than just storage. Automatic core security-patch updates reduce routine maintenance, while backup frequency improves from weekly on Starter to daily on Business and Pro; on-demand backups are available only on Pro. HOSTDATOS, founded in 1998, presents a mature hosting option for administrators who want managed phpBB infrastructure and migration assistance. Forum owners who need a free plan, a non-web platform, or firewall protection on the entry tier should consider alternatives. Those prioritizing cPanel administration, managed updates, and flexible backup choices should look closely at Forum Business or Forum Pro.
