Honeywell Home, now called the Resideo App, brings compatible Resideo and Honeywell Home products into a mobile dashboard. It is aimed at homeowners who already have supported connected devices, such as thermostats, security cameras or water leak detectors, and want to manage them remotely. The app is free and available for iOS and Android. Its appeal is practical rather than universal: it is a control point for a compatible Resideo setup, not a general-purpose way to manage every smart-home product.
Core controls include a one-touch dashboard, remote device management and schedules for connected products and home comfort settings. Location-aware geofencing can automate actions based on household location, while motion activity can trigger alerts. Compatible detectors can send leak, freeze and humidity notifications, and camera integrations let residents view activity at home. Household members can also get access to the dashboard and controls. Voice and ecosystem connections include Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, Apple Home, and Samsung SmartThings; Siri is supported through Apple Home. These options make it more useful for households combining Resideo devices with supported smart-home platforms, though device compatibility remains central to what is available.
The app's main trade-off is its device-dependent scope. Resideo says compatibility and feature availability vary by device, so buyers should check that their specific products support the controls and alerts they want. The Honeywell Home App has been renamed the Resideo App, and existing users can continue using their current app until migration to the First Alert App. Support channels include chat, phone and documentation. Choose it if your home already relies on compatible Resideo or Honeywell Home products and you want schedules, remote access and alerts in one mobile app. If you need a control app for devices outside that ecosystem, or a desktop deployment, this is a narrower fit.
