Our verdict on Helios
Aerospace and defence manufacturers, subcontractors, assemblers and OEMs can use Helios as an ERP system spanning production planning, workshop execution, supply-chain management, quality and traceability. Its stated fit covers mechanical and electronic production, including machining, sheet metal, assembly and composite parts. That breadth makes it relevant to plants that need planning and process records connected across production rather than a standalone scheduling tool.
Planning combines PIC/PDP, MRP II and scheduling, with both finite- and infinite-capacity approaches. On the execution side, MES-style shop-floor monitoring and operation tracking connect plans with work in progress. Helios also records lots and serial numbers, manages FAI/DVI first-article and validation dossiers, and supports quality controls and nonconformance handling. Surface-treatment process and bath traceability stand out as a specific capability for manufacturers that need to follow those processes. Buyers seeking a general-purpose ERP without aerospace-oriented production and traceability needs may find this specialization less relevant.
