Heave is a web-based file transfer service for sending large files and folders through shareable download links or email notifications. It suits individuals and organizations that need high-capacity transfers, resumable uploads, recipient tracking, file requests, or programmatic delivery. Transfers can be password-protected, recipients can download files as ZIP archives, and folder uploads preserve their structure. The service is available through the web and API.

The published plans show a useful progression in capacity and retention. Free includes 50 GB per transfer, 48-hour expiry, and 50 GB of storage. Pro costs $10 per month and raises the limit to 250 GB per transfer, adds 14-day expiry and 1 TB of storage, and includes transfer analytics and management, saved contacts, and notifications. Ultimate costs $29 per month, supports 500 GB transfers, provides 1-year expiry and 2 TB of storage, and adds custom download and upload pages plus API access. Transfer management also supports expiry extension and deletion.

Heave’s strongest distinction is the combination of large transfer limits with workflow and delivery controls. Recipient view and download tracking, custom subdomains, branded pages, and file requests can support more structured file delivery than a basic sharing link. The REST API can create, manage, and deliver transfers, but it is reserved for Ultimate rather than the lower-cost Pro plan. Choose Heave if transfer size, resumability, tracking, and API-based delivery are central requirements. Choose another service if you need platform coverage beyond the web and API or want branding and automation on a lower-priced tier.
