HCI MemTest review
A low-cost RAM stability tester, not an overclocking control tool.
Reviewed by iTechGuides Editors · Editorial team · Updated Oct 2026
HCI MemTest checks whether a computer can reliably store and retrieve data from RAM. It is aimed at home users, overclockers, computer technicians, and organizations testing multiple PCs. The software focuses on configurable RAM coverage, memory error detection, logging, background testing, and bootable media rather than changing hardware settings. It supports Windows and Linux, while the free plan is described as a Windows memory-stability option.
The published plans show a free MemTest Free edition with RAM reliability testing and no advertisements. MemTest Pro costs $5 one-time and adds an advanced user interface, command-line control, automatic multi-instance testing, error logging, and background testing. MemTest Deluxe costs $14 one-time, includes MemTest Pro, and adds a bootable CD/USB version, direct access to all RAM, and basic memory-speed benchmarking. That structure suits buyers who want to start with core stability checks and pay only when they need more automation or boot-level access.
Its strongest fit is RAM validation after memory changes or during troubleshooting, especially when repeatable coverage, multiple test instances, or disk-based error records matter. Deluxe is the more suitable choice when testing should run from bootable media or access all installed RAM without loading the operating system. HCI MemTest is not the right choice for directly tuning CPU, memory, or motherboard overclocking settings; users seeking those controls should choose a different type of tool. Pick it for focused, low-cost memory stability testing, and avoid it if hardware adjustment is the primary requirement.
