Our verdict on Harmony
Harmony is an iOS music app for solo listeners who want to create Apple Music playlists from natural-language descriptions. Prompts can describe a mood, moment, activity, vibe, favorite artist, or genre, giving the app several ways to shape a playlist. The Free plan costs 0 and includes playlist generation, personalized recommendations, and Apple Music integration. Generated playlists can be saved directly to an Apple Music library, while the app itself is available through the App Store.
The strongest part of Harmony is the range of input styles and the control available after generation. Users can request music by mood, moment, activity, or vibe, or focus on an artist or genre. Once a playlist is created, interactive controls support adding, moving, and deleting songs instead of treating the first result as final. AI song recognition adds another discovery route, and Siri Shortcuts can create playlists through configured shortcut actions. These features make Harmony more useful for listeners who want both prompt-based creation and manual refinement.
Platform fit is the main consideration. Harmony is built for iOS and connects with Apple Music, so it suits iPhone users who already have an Apple Music membership. Its ecosystem focus is narrow rather than multi-service: the published integration is Apple Music, and the deployment is mobile. Support is available by email. Choose Harmony if free, prompt-driven playlist creation and Apple Music saving are your priorities; choose another option if you need Android access, a different streaming service, or a desktop-based workflow.
