Our verdict on HangUp
HangUp is a free Android app from Nord Security for consumers who want basic protection from spam, scam, and telemarketing calls. It checks incoming calls against a database of known spam callers, displays caller information and warnings, and can automatically block unwanted calls. Caller recognition and sorting by type also help users distinguish different kinds of callers before answering.
The pricing is simple: HangUp is free, with no paid tier described. Its feature set covers the main needs of a basic spam-call blocker, including caller ID for spam detection, incoming-call screening, automatic blocking, and warnings for telemarketing and spam calls. Users can also review weekly, monthly, and yearly blocking statistics, giving the app a clear way to show blocked-call activity over time. A free Nord Account is required to sign in, adding an account step to an otherwise straightforward offering.
HangUp fits users who have an Android phone and want focused call protection without a subscription. Its support includes 24/7 assistance, while its platform scope remains limited to Android. The app is a practical choice for consumers who prioritize caller identification, automatic spam blocking, and simple statistics. Users seeking broader platform coverage or a wider security product ecosystem should consider a different option, while those needing core Android spam-call protection can choose HangUp for its free, focused approach.
