Our verdict on Greater Than Gatsby
Greater Than Gatsby creates downloadable Lightroom presets and Photoshop actions for photographers who want ready-made editing styles across portrait, wedding, newborn, lifestyle, film, black-and-white, and light-and-airy work. It supports both newer and experienced photographers, with collections intended for personal projects and professional workflows. Desktop compatibility covers Lightroom Creative Cloud, Lightroom CC, Lightroom Classic, and Adobe Camera Raw, while mobile collections support Lightroom on iOS and Android.
Pricing is structured around free samples, individual collections, and bundles. The Free Lightroom Presets plan includes 16 presets for Lightroom CC and Adobe Camera Raw, with Lightroom Mobile use available through a Creative Cloud account. The Individual Mobile Preset Collection costs $19 one-time for 10 presets and works with the free Lightroom app on iOS and Android. The Individual Desktop Preset Collection costs $49 one-time, while the Premium Desktop Preset Collection costs $99 and adds modifiable preset sliders. The Complete Mobile Presets Bundle costs $69 for 10 collections and 100 mobile presets. At the top, the $249 Complete Presets Bundle includes eight collections and 641 presets for Lightroom CC, Classic CC, and Camera Raw.
The main advantage is coverage: buyers can choose focused collections or a larger library spanning multiple photography styles. Installation instructions, video tutorials, DNG mobile files, and XMP desktop files support different editing setups. Preset sliders can also be customized, which gives photographers more control than fixed-only downloads. The trade-off is a catalog that favors breadth over a single specialized look, and the separate mobile and desktop offerings require careful selection. Photographers seeking a wide preset library across Adobe and mobile workflows should consider Greater Than Gatsby; those wanting one narrowly defined style or a subscription model should look elsewhere.
