Google Meet is a browser-based and mobile video-conferencing service for individuals, schools, and organizations. It supports creating and joining meetings, presenting a browser tab, application window, or entire screen, and collaborating through Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides. The free plan supports up to 100 participants, with meetings of three or more participants lasting up to 60 minutes. Mobile calls and one-to-one meetings have no time limit.
The paid plans add capacity and Workspace features in clear steps. Business Starter costs $7 per user per month when billed monthly and supports 100 participants with a 24-hour maximum meeting length. Business Standard costs $14 per user per month and supports 150 participants, with meeting recordings saved to Google Drive. Business Plus costs $22 per user per month and supports 500 participants, also with recordings saved to Google Drive. Enterprise supports up to 1,000 participants, in-domain live streaming, and contact-sales pricing.
Meet fits organizations already working in Google Workspace, with integrations for Google Calendar, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Microsoft Outlook, Jira, Salesforce, and Okta. Users can access it on the web, Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, and Android. Breakout rooms, captions, chat, phone access, and live streaming are available according to the plan, account type, administrator settings, and region. Google Workspace organizations that want meetings connected to Google productivity tools should find the feature set well aligned. Teams that need longer free group meetings or plan-independent access to phone and streaming features should compare alternatives.
