Google Cloud Network Intelligence Center review
A Google Cloud console for mapping network paths, testing connectivity, and analyzing configurations.

Google Cloud Network Intelligence Center brings network topology, connectivity testing, performance monitoring, and configuration analysis into a cloud console. It is aimed at cloud infrastructure, network operations, and security teams that need visibility across Google Cloud VPCs and related services. Topology views cover VM instances, load balancers, VPN, Interconnect, on-premises networks, and GKE, with traffic paths and associated metrics. This makes it a fit for teams tracing how Google Cloud resources connect; it is less suited to organizations seeking a vendor-neutral map spanning several cloud providers.
Its scope extends beyond diagrams. Connectivity Tests check paths between endpoints such as VMs, GKE clusters, load balancers, and internet IP addresses, while Network Analyzer examines VPC configurations for misconfigurations, dependencies, and connectivity issues. Firewall Insights adds rule-usage analysis, and Flow Analyzer can use VPC Flow Logs with five-tuple traffic details. The Performance Dashboard includes throughput, latency, packet loss, and CPU utilization. Cloud Monitoring metrics scopes support cross-project metrics, so the service connects topology with operational signals rather than stopping at an inventory view.
Pricing is module-specific. Connectivity Tests include 20 free tests; additional tests are priced at $0.15 per test per month. Network Topology, Network Analyzer, and the Performance Dashboard currently have a 100% discount, while the dashboard's listed rate is $0.0011 per VM resource-hour. Cloud Network Insights Pay-as-you-go is $0.10 per path per hour, and Enterprise is $275 per path per year with credit-based consumption and continuous monitoring; Enterprise Unlimited offers unlimited monitoring for large-scale deployments. Pick it if Google Cloud is your network environment and path analysis, testing, and telemetry matter together. Consider another tool if you need broad multi-cloud coverage or prefer a single, simpler pricing unit.
Google Cloud Network Intelligence Center pros and cons
- Where it wins
- Maps VPCs, hybrid links, managed services, traffic paths, and GKE resources.
- Combines connectivity tests with configuration and firewall-rule analysis.
- Shows real-time and historical metrics, including latency and packet loss.
- Where it doesn't
- Focused on Google Cloud infrastructure rather than multi-cloud environments.
- Pricing varies by module and usage, including path-, test-, and VM-hour charges.
- Support channels listed are community and documentation.
