Our verdict on GMiner

GMiner is desktop cryptocurrency-mining software for NVIDIA and AMD GPUs, aimed at solo and small-scale miners who want control over pool connections and recovery behavior. Windows and Linux builds support algorithms including Ethash, ProgPoW, KAWPOW, Equihash, CuckooCycle, Etchash, Cuckatoo32, Beamhash, Dero, and KarlsenHash. Its focus is GPU mining rather than a broader mining-management suite, so it is a closer fit for miners configuring GPU rigs than for users seeking CPU mining or extensive remote administration.

Pool configuration is a central strength: miners can set server and port details, configure failover pools, and use automatic reconnection. Secure pool connections, SOCKS5 proxy, and Tor support give additional connection options. DAG caching and safe DAG generation support supported workloads, while temperature protection and automatic fan control help manage GPU conditions. Windows users also have GPU overclocking controls. These controls make GMiner relevant when pool continuity and basic GPU safeguards matter more than centralized fleet operations.

Recovery and visibility round out the feature set. A watchdog can restart mining after crashes or freezes, and a browser-based statistics server supports remote monitoring. That is useful for checking operation away from the machine, but the remote function described is monitoring rather than broader remote control. GMiner is free to obtain, though the developer charges a commission on supported algorithms. Distribution is through the developer’s public GitHub repository; support is community-based. Choose it if you want a GPU-focused miner with failover and recovery tools on Windows or Linux. Consider alternatives if your priority is CPU mining or more extensive remote management.
