Our verdict on Gling
Gling is an AI-assisted video editor for YouTube creators and other spoken-video producers. It transcribes uploaded audio or video, then supports transcript-based trimming, automatic removal of bad takes, silence and filler-word removal, captions, speech enhancement, noise removal, automatic framing, multicamera editing, and AI-generated B-roll. It also generates YouTube title and chapter suggestions. Projects can be exported as MP4 or MP3, subtitles as SRT, or XML for Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, and DaVinci Resolve. It is best suited to creators whose videos depend on spoken footage and who want to reduce the manual work of first-pass editing.
The plan structure scales by monthly AI-edited media. Free includes 1 hour per month, unlimited exports with a watermark, AI captions, SRT subtitle export, and automatic silence and filler-word removal. Plus costs $20 per month when billed monthly for 10 hours and watermark-free exports, while Pro costs $40 for 30 hours and adds premium support. Elite costs $100 for 100 hours and includes premium support. Annual billing lowers Plus to $10 per month, Pro to $20, and Elite to $50; the annual plans provide the same monthly media allowances and watermark-free exports. The free plan is useful for evaluating the workflow, but regular publishing may require a paid tier.
Gling’s strongest fit is its connection to established editing applications through XML export, giving creators a transcript-led starting point before continuing work in Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or Resolve. Its focus is narrower than a general-purpose editor: the standout workflow centers on spoken-video cleanup, captions, framing, multicamera edits, and supporting assets such as AI B-roll. Choose it for YouTube talking-head production on Windows or macOS, especially when silence and filler removal matter. Choose an alternative if you need a platform outside Windows or macOS, do not want watermarks on free exports, or need more than the selected plan’s monthly AI-edited media allowance.
