Our verdict on GiliSoft Movie DVD Creator
GiliSoft Movie DVD Creator is Windows desktop software for turning video files, photos, and music into menu-based DVD projects. It is aimed at individuals, families, educators, creators, and teams preparing archive, event, training, or business DVDs. Projects can include chapter navigation, subtitles, custom backgrounds, watermarks, text, and title elements, while basic editing tools cover trimming, cropping, and image adjustments.
The pricing structure favors users who expect to keep authoring DVDs over time. The 1 Year/1 PC plan costs $39.95 per device per year and includes one year of free updates. Lifetime/1 PC costs $49.95 per device with lifetime free updates, while Lifetime/3 PC costs $149.95 per device and covers three PCs with lifetime free updates. There is no free plan. For a single Windows computer, the Lifetime/1 PC option is the clearest fit when continued access matters more than recurring billing.
Its main strength is coverage across the DVD authoring workflow rather than a narrow disc-burning function. Users can create chapters manually or automatically, load subtitles, choose PAL or NTSC, and export to a DVD disc, ISO image, or VIDEO_TS folder. Support for recordable, rewritable, and dual-layer media adds flexibility for different disc projects. However, the Windows-only platform limits its audience, and users seeking software for another operating system should choose an alternative. It is a suitable pick for Windows users who want menu-driven DVDs and lifetime licensing, but less suitable for buyers who need a free plan or cross-platform access.
