Gcore FastEdge review
A low-cost, multi-language edge runtime with flexible deployment and useful state controls.

Gcore FastEdge is a serverless edge-computing product for developers building request-time applications and HTTP processing logic. It runs WebAssembly applications across 210+ points of presence and supports JavaScript and Rust development alongside WebAssembly. Teams can use it for routing, redirects, URL rewrites, authentication, token validation, personalization, A/B testing, response transformation, lightweight APIs, and origin offload. It is suited to organizations that want edge execution without provisioning servers or managing regions, particularly when multi-language support and several deployment paths matter.
Pricing is straightforward at the entry level. The Free plan costs €0 per month and includes 1,000,000 calls, 100 ms runtime duration per call, 50 MB memory per call, and 720 MB-hours of storage. The €5-per-month Pro plan raises those allowances to 3,000,000 calls, 5 seconds of runtime duration per call, 200 MB memory per call, and 7,200 MB-hours of storage. Both plans include access to 210+ PoPs. Enterprise adds custom usage limits with custom pricing, making it the option for requirements that exceed the published plans. The low Pro price makes FastEdge particularly relevant for teams moving beyond a small free workload.
FastEdge also covers application controls that are useful at the edge rather than limiting execution to simple request handling. Edge Storage supports rules, flags, and entitlements, while Secrets Manager integration addresses sensitive configuration. Authentication, token validation, request and response header or body processing, and response streaming broaden its fit for HTTP services and delivery workflows. Integration with Gcore CDN, Virtual Machines, S3 Storage, Edge Storage, and Secrets Manager strengthens its fit for teams already building on Gcore. Choose FastEdge for affordable, flexible edge logic with JavaScript, Rust, or WebAssembly; consider another option if you need a broader external ecosystem or fixed enterprise limits and pricing.
